Way to much ginger & cloves. I had to throw the batch away, it was inedible.

Anytime I'm making stuff like this I always make half or even one quarter of the recipe first, as a trial. That way it's easier to eyeball it and you can tell and taste if there needs to be a little variation to the recipe. This recipe is quite delicious with a little less spice. Come on, its a fun trial thing and that's whats so nice about cooking! Merry Christmas; this is especially good for the season.

I tried this recipe since I live in rural Alaska and can't buy the seasonal liquid creamers that I usually enjoy this time of year. This recipe is NOT a substitute for that sort of craving. The spices make it pretty gritty since they don't dissolve all the way, so I would cut down the recipe's suggested amount next time I make it, and scratch the allspice altogether. I also added 1/2-3/4 cups of white sugar and that helped A LOT. If you cut down the spices a little, omit the allspice, and add sugar you'll end up with a decent creamer. I will admit, I am one who likes their coffee to taste like anything BUT coffee, so use your own disc... read more
