Corn Pudding Recipe

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 tablespoon corn starch
1 cup milk
3 eggs (beaten)
1 can (#10 size) cream style corn
2 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 dash of nutmeg
Directions:
Mix together sugar and cornstarch, gradually adding milk until smooth. Add eggs, corn, butter and salt and mix well. Turn into greased 1 quart [1 litre] baking dish, sprinkle top with nutmeg. Place pan in (a larger pan of) hot water at 300 F [150 C] for 1-3/4 hours.
This is a good old Southern (US) dish. The only trouble is that it takes so long to cook so you can't make it on the spur of the moment.
