4 cups apples -- peeled & sliced
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons instant tapioca
1 lemon, juiced
1 cup boiling water


In medium bowl, toss apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, salt and tapioca until evenly coated. Place apples in crock pot. Pour lemon juice over top. Pour in boiling water. Cook on high for 3-4 hours.

The results don't resemble any pudding—it's just a mess of cooked apple slices in a thin brown sauce. I'm not an experienced enough cook to say where the recipe goes wrong. Maybe it will thicken as it cools.
I'm going to make a cobbler crust and try serving it with pieces of that and vanilla ice cream.
