Ingredients:
4 cups Saskatoon berries
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons lemon juice
3/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon butter
1 pastry for a two-crust pie

Directions:

Simmer berries in water for 10 minutes. Cool and add lemon juice. Mix sugar and cornstarch and add to berries.

Line pie plate with one pastry crust. Add filling and dot with butter. Cover with remaining pastry crust, seal edges and cut steam vents in top.

Bake 10 minutes at 450 F and turn oven down to 350 F and continue baking until pastry is golden brown, about 25 to 35 minutes.
