ingredients

2 cups All Bran cereal
2 cups flour, whole wheat
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup raisins
1 egg
1 3/4 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup molasses, dark

directions

In a medium bowl, combine bran, flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda and raisins. In another bowl, combine milk, egg and molasses. Blend into dry ingredients. Do not over-beat.

Pour into greased and floured 8-cup mold or can. Cover with foil and tie. Place on rack in slow cooker and pour 2 cups hot water around can.

Cover pot and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours. Turn bread out on cooling rack and serve warm or cool.
