2 smoked sausages, diced
1 onion, finely chopped
2 teaspoons cumin
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 can (19 ounce size) black beans, drained and rinsed
4 cups water


In large saucepan, brown sausages over medium heat. Add onion and cumin; cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 2 minutes.

Add tomato paste; cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add beans and water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.

REVIEW: 4 star recipe rating
I used chicken broth instead of water for more flavor and richness. Good but simple soup. I'd reduce the amount of liquid next time as it was quite brothy.
