Low-Fat Turkey Pasta Sauce - CDKitchen.com

ingredients

1 pound ground turkey
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 tomatoes, peeled and chopped
6 ounces tomato paste
2 tablespoons oregano, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
1 cup red wine, dry
black pepper, to taste

directions

Heat oil in a heavy skillet with a lid. Saute onion and garlic for 4-5 minutes until limp. Add turkey and cook, breaking up meat, until no pink color remains.

Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer for 1 hour. Add a small amount of water if sauce appears to be getting too dry.

Let stand for 15 minutes before serving over spaghetti.
