Easy Salmon with Brown Sugar with Bourbon Glaze
- add review
- #11766
ingredients
6 salmon fillets
1/4 cup bourbon
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
directions
I made this recipe last night and it was terrific! I had a little problem with the heat being too high to keep the sugar from hardening when cool, but it was a minor problem, and didn't effect the recipe's taste.
Melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat, in a pan large enough to cook the salmon. Add salmon filets, cook 6 minutes. Flip salmon, Add bourbon, and finish cooking fish, approximately 6 more minutes or until opaque and flakes with a fork. Serve salmon with glaze on top- goes great with asparagus and rice!

I attempted this recipe and I personally did not like it. The salmon was VERY fishy tasting. If you don't like fishy taste, DO NOT DO THIS! If you don't mind it, the glaze is pretty good.
Salmon has a stronger fish flavor, but it should not be "very fishy" unless it's not fresh.

Very easy and quick - cooked on a med low temp so didn't have any troule with the sugar hardening. I used 1/2 the bourbon - my children like the sweeter taste.
