ingredients
2 cups cooked ham, cut in strips
1 tablespoon oil
1 can (9 ounce size) pineapple tidbits
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon monosodium glutamate (MSG)
3 1/2 teaspoons vinegar
3 teaspoons mustard
3/4 cup water
1 green bell pepper, cut in 1/2 inch squares
2 cups cooked rice
directions
Brown ham in hot oil. Drain pineapple, reserving syrup.
Mix brown sugar, cornstarch, monosodium glutamate, vinegar and mustard. Add to skillet. Cook and stir until mixture thickens and bubbles. Simmer covered for 10 minutes.
Add pineapple and green pepper. Simmer 3 to 5 minutes. Salt to taste. Serve with hot cooked rice.
