Broccoli Alfredo Recipe

Ingredients:
3 quarts water
1 1/2 teaspoon salt -- divided
3 bunches broccoli -- trimmed
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
2 1/2 cups whole milk
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
3 ounces cream cheese -- softened
cooked crumbled bacon
Directions:
In a large Dutch oven, combine water and 1 teaspoon salt; bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Add broccoli and cook until tender; drain and keep warm.
In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour, remaining salt, and white pepper; whisk until smooth. Cook, whisking constantly, 2 minutes. Gradually add milk, whisking until smooth. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat to medium low and cook 4 minutes, whisking constantly.
Add Parmesan cheese and cream cheese, stirring until melted. Spoon sauce over broccoli and garnish with bacon.
