- add review
- #25409
2-5 hrs
ingredients
1/2 cup chopped nuts (choose your favorite type)
1/2 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
6 ounces semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
directions
Butter an 8" square pan (do not use the 1/2 cup butter measured for the recipe). Sprinkle the chopped nuts evenly over the buttered surface.
In a heavy saucepan, melt the butter. Add the sugar, and bring to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and boil gently for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Pour carefully and evenly over the nuts in the pan. Sprinkle chopped chocolate on top. Cover the pan for 2 minutes to allow the heat to soften the chocolate. When soft, spread the chocolate evenly over the candy.
Chill until very firm. Remove from pan, and break into pieces.
