Chocolate Almond Brittle

ingredients
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup coarsely chopped almonds
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 pound milk chocolate
directions
Combine the sugar, corn syrup and salt in a glass bowl. Mix well. Microwave on high for 4 minutes; stir in the almonds. Microwave on high for 4 more minutes.
Add the butter and vanilla. Stir well, microwave on high for 1 1/2 minutes. Stir in baking soda. Pour mixture onto greased baking sheet. Let cool completely.
Break into pieces. Melt chocolate in microwave. Dip half of brittle into melted chocolate. Place on waxed paper and let cool and harden. Store in airtight container.
