Unbaked Fruit Cake

1 pound package vanilla wafers
1 pound shelled pecans
1 pound shelled English walnuts
1 pound dates
1 pound raisins
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 pound candied cherries (1/2 red, 1/2 green)
1 pound candied pineapple
1 pound package marshmallows
1 can (3.5 ounce size) coconut
Grind or crush vanilla wafers. Cut candied pineapple into small pieces, leave other fruit and nuts whole.
Mix all ingredients except milk and marshmallows in a large pan or mixing bowl.
Melt marshmallows in milk (use double boiler and stir constantly). Mix melted marshmallows and milk mixture and other ingredients.
When well mixed, pack into a buttered angel food cake pan or small loaf pans.
When cool, remove from pan and wrap in waxed paper or saran wrap. Store covered at room temperature.
