1 package frozen strawberries, thawed
6 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 3/4 cup flour, sifted
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup plain yogurt


Cream butter and sugar and beat until fluffy. Beat in egg. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg. Add to creamed mixture, alternately with milk and yogurt, ending with dry ingredients.

Pour into 8" square cake pan. Spoon berries and juice over top. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream.

Needs Milk!

I used about 1/2 c. to 3/4 c. milk; just enough until it reached cake batter consistency. Add milk slowly and beat.

Then, with the strawberries; I put them in a saucepan with 1/2 c. sugar, brought to a slow simmer for 30 min.; removed from heat let cool, then chilled in refrigerator about 45 minutes prior to pouring over cake mixture and baking at 350 for 35-45 min. until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Also, I used (1) 4 oz. container of vanilla Activia Yogurt, and (1) 4 oz. container of cherry Activia Yogurt.

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream... It's like strawberry bread pudding, YUMMY!
