ingredients
1 package active dry yeast
1/4 cup lukewarm water
1 teaspoon sugar
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
1 cup warm water
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
directions
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Add 1 teaspoon sugar.
In bowl, cream 1/3 cup sugar, shortening, and egg. Add warm water. Beat. Add dissolved yeast. Beat in flour and salt.
Let rise; then press down when doubled, and roll out or put into refrigerator.
Make rolls as needed. Put in greased pan.
Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes or until brown.
