ingredients

2 cups sugar
1 cup butter, at room temperature
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups sifted flour, divided
5 ripe bananas, mashed
3 teaspoons allspice
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups frozen or fresh blueberries

directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour 2 loaf pans.

Cream together sugar and butter.

Beat in eggs and vanilla. Fold in half of the flour and mashed bananas.

Place remaining flour less 2 Tbsp in a sifter and add allspice, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Sift and fold into banana mixture.

Sprinkle blueberries with remaining flour and fold into batter. Divide batter into both prepared pans.

Bake for approximately 50 minutes. Test with toothpick to determine if bread is done.
