Gum Drop Squares Recipe

Serves/Makes: 3 dozen
Ingredients:
1 cup margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 tablespoon vinegar
3 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt and pepper
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 pound gumdrops (don't use black gumdrops)
1 1/2 cup chopped nuts
powdered sugar
Directions:
Heat oven to 375. Grease a 15x10" jelly roll pan. Cream margarine, sugar, syrup, and eggs. Stir in vanilla and vinegar. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and soda together, add to margarine mixture and mix well. Add gumdrops and nuts.
Spread in a greased jelly roll pan and bake 30-35 minutes at 375. Cool and cut into 2" squares. Dust with powdered sugar.
