ingredients
1 cup dates or raisins
1 cup hot water or coffee
1 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 cup flour
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 bag chocolate chips
1 cup nuts (optional)
directions
In blender, combine dates or raisins and hot water or coffee. Blend and cool.
In a bowl, cream together margarine, sugar, and eggs. Add flour, cocoa, and baking soda alternately with date or raisin mixture. Mix in bag of chips and nuts if desired.
Bake in a greased pan at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.
