2 ounces dark rum
1 cube sugar
3 whole cloves
1 inch cinnamon stick
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 slice lemon
boiling water
Combine the rum, sugar cube, cloves, cinnamon stick, lemon juice, and lemon slice in a 8-10 ounce heat proof mug. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
Add boiling water to fill. Stir gently.
Serve the grog warm.
Sugar cubes used to be more popular but these days they can be harder to find. You can substitute 1 teaspoon granulated sugar for 1 sugar cube.
