1/2 cup butter 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1/2 cup milk 1 1/2 cup flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 cup cherries, cut in half
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour 9x13 inch loaf pan.
Use some of your flour to coat the cherries before adding them to your mixture. Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs. Alternate dry ingredients and milk into your butter-egg mixture. Add cherries. Pour into greased loaf pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour (I leave it in a bit less than an hour, check it at 45 minutes.) Test for doneness by using toothpick poked into center of loaf. Toothpick should come out dry.
