Ingredients:
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cloves

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine brown sugar, shortening and eggs. Blend until fluffy. Add molasses, salt, soda, ginger, cloves and cinnamon. Blend well. Add flour. Chill dough. Roll dough into individual balls and roll in sugar. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes.
