You're probably in one of two groups. Either you own a waffle iron and are about to make this recipe, or you're currently doing some online shopping for waffle irons.

3 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon sugar
1 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
confectioners' sugar
2 1/2 cups fresh berries (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, etc)
2 cups pure maple syrup, heated
whipped cream
Preheat a waffle iron as directed by the manufacturer.
Whisk together the eggs, butter, sour cream, milk, vanilla, and sugar in a bowl.
In a large bowl, combine the flour and baking powder and stir well. While stirring, slowly add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and stir until the ingredients are just moistened. Do not overmix.
Add the batter to the waffle iron, using the amount indicated by the manufacturer. Cook until browned. Remove from the waffle maker and keep warm.
When all the waffles are cooked, sprinkle with confectioners sugar and fresh berries. Serve immediately with heated maple syrup and fresh whipped cream.
