Double Decker Grilled Cheese Sandwiches With Chili Recipe

Ingredients:
12 slices white or wheat sandwich bread
8 slices American cheese
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 can chili without beans, warmed

Directions:

Heat griddle or large skillet over medium heat.

Meanwhile, top 1/3 of the bread slices with a slice of American cheese. Top each with another slice of bread, cheese and remaining bread slices. Butter the top and bottom of each sandwich.

Cook each sandwich until golden brown on both sides and cheese is melted.

Cut each sandwich into two triangles. Top sandwiches with warm chili and serve immediately.

Cook's Note: Try other cheese varieties such as Cheddar, Swiss, Pepper Jack or any combination.
