The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

This recipe comes pretty close to matching its famed canned counterpart. The only thing missing is some Romano cheese (which you can sprinkle on top to taste). It's quick, easy, cheap and definitely child-friendly. Use lower sodium tomato soup to make it a bit healthier.
