Ingredients:
1 pound beef flank steak
2 tablespoons cracked black pepper
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons sea salt or kosher salt
2 teaspoons sugar
***Yogurt-Lime Sauce***
1 cup plain low-fat yogurt
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
2 teaspoons finely chopped crystallized ginger
1 teaspoon finely shredded lime peel
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt

Directions:

Preheat broiler. Score both sides of steak in a diamond pattern by making shallow diagonal cuts at 1-inch intervals.

In a small bowl, combine black pepper, garlic powder, sea salt and sugar. Sprinkle evenly over both sides of steak; rub in as much as you can with your fingers. Let stand, covered, for 10 minutes. Rub in the remaining mixture.

Yogurt-Lime Sauce: In a small bowl, combine combine all ingredients. Cover and chill until serving time.

Place steak on the unheated rack of a broiler pan. Broil 3 to 4 inches from the heat for 9 to 10 minutes for rare done­ ness (130°) or 11 to 12 minutes for me­dium rare (145°), turning once. Remove from heat; let stand 10 minutes.

Thinly slice steak across the grain.

Serve with Yogurt-Lime Sauce.
