Sliced banana blended with citrus juice and dark grenadine makes a pretty pink shake with heaps of tropical flavor. Works with frozen banana and no ice cubes, too.
serves/makes:
ready in: under 30 minutes
ingredients
1 ripe banana, peeled and sliced 1/2 cup pineapple juice 1/2 cup orange juice 1 tablespoon grenadine syrup 1 cup ice cubes
directions
Combine the banana, pineapple juice, orange juice, grenadine, and ice in a blender. Process on high speed until smooth and frothy.
Pour into a tall glass and serve immediately. You can add additional grenadine for a darker pink drink if desired.
Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
