Ingredients:
3 large broccoli heads, florets and stalks, cut into bite-size pieces
3 tablespoons butter
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon minced garlic
2/3 cup sour cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper

Directions:

Steam the broccoli over boiling water for 4 to 5 minutes, until tender-crisp. Plunge into a bowl of cold water to stop the cooking. Drain well and set aside.

Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and saute until soft­ened, about 3 minutes. Add the garlic and saute for one minute longer. Remove from the heat.

Mix in the broccoli, sour cream, and 3/4 cup of Parmesan cheese. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Preheat the broiler.

Spoon the mixture into a 2-quart gratin or souffle dish and sprinkle the top with the remain­ing Parmesan cheese. Place under the broiler for 2 minutes or until the cheese is melted and slightly golden. Serve hot.
