INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup club soda
1 beaten egg
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon salt
5 cups biscuit baking mix


DIRECTIONS:

Preheat the oven to 450F.

Combine all of the ingredients, knead the dough by hand until the dough holds together do not over knead. Flour your hands. Pat the dough flat to 3/4-inch thickness out biscuits with a biscuit cutter. Bake on a greased baking sheet for 13 minutes, or until golden brown, when they come out of the oven brush with melted butter.

I make 4 or 5 batches of these biscuits 3 times a year for our church. They are always a big hit with those in attendance and go great with sausage gravy! The only thing I add is a brush of egg on top of biscuits before baking.

Sorry, in my first review I stated that the only thing that I added was an egg brushing on top of biscuit before baking but I actually add 2 1/2 tablespoons of sugar to the dry mix.
