ingredients

2 1/2 quarts water
4 packets (1.8 ounces size) dry oxtail soup mix
1 quart tomato juice
1 quart whole milk
1/2 cup dry cooking sherry
12 ounces drained, chopped clams

directions

Bring water to a boil, then very slowly add dry soup mix, stirring constantly with a wire whisk.

Reduce heat and add tomato juice, milk, sherry and clams. Simmer about 15 minutes.
