Serves/Makes:   2 loaves

  

Ingredients:
2/3 cup butter or margarine
1 1/4 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 cup applesauce
1/2 cup milk
4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon grated lemon rind
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup chopped raisins
1/2 cup chopped dates

Directions:

Cream together butter & sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Stir in applesauce & milk.

Combine dry ingredients; add to applesauce mixture & mix well. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour into greased 9x5x3-inch loaf pans.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until bread tests done.

Cool on rack for 10 minutes. Remove bread from pan & finish cooling on rack.
