1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup pecans


Beat the eggs. Add the remaining ingredients, in the order given; work in the nuts. Pour into a 9 inch unbaked pie shell. Bake at 300 degrees F for 40-45 minutes.

The recipe as published by Dear Abby uses corn syrup. I used this recipe and it did not set at all. It came out more liquid than it went in. Needless to say it went in the trash!

I think they forgot the corn syrup? Rather important to hold it all together.
