CRUST

42 crushed chocolate sandwich cookies
1/2 cup butter, melted

LAYER I

1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream, softened
3/4 cup Spanish peanuts

LAYER II

2/3 cup chocolate chips
1/3 cup margarine
1 1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup sugar
Spanish peanuts

directions

CRUST: Mix cookie crumbs and butter and pat into bottom of a 9- by 13-inch pan. Freeze overnight.

LAYER I: Let ice cream soften for about 45 minutes. Spread over bottom crust. Sprinkle with nuts and freeze.

LAYER II: In a saucepan, melt chocolate chips, margarine, milk and sugar. Bring to a boil. Cool.

Pour over ice cream. Sprinkle on more nuts. Freeze for 2 hours.
