Ingredients:
***Filling***
1/2 cup lime juice (key limes if you can get them, they are tiny)
1 tablespoon lime zest
3 egg yolks
1 can sweetened condensed milk
***Meringue***
3 egg whites
3/4 cup white granulated sugar

Directions:

I have never had bacterial problems from using this method, I check the eggs very, very carefully first to make sure there are no cracks or weak places in the shells.

Whisk filling ingredients together and pour into prepared graham cracker crust. Top with Meringue

Meringue: Beat 3 egg whites (leftover from separating the eggs) just until they form stiff peaks and then gradually beat in 3/4 cup white granulated sugar 1/4 cup at a time.

Carefully spread over filling and seal to edges of crust, covering filling completely. Place in preheated 450 F oven just until meringue peaks begin to brown. Let cool and chill at least 2 hours.
