ingredients
1 1/3 cup flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons salt
3/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup applesauce, cinnamon flavored
3 egg white
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup skim milk
confectioner's sugar, optional
directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line muffin cups with paper liners.
Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, soda and salt. Beat the next six ingredients until combined, about 1 minute. Stir in flour mixture alternately with milk until just combined.
Pour batter into muffin cups. Bake 22 to 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Remove cupcakes from pan; cool on wire rack 30 minutes. Sprinkle with sugar, if desired.

I haven't even baked these things yet and I have to agree on the salt part. I used the 2 teaspoons that were called for in the recipe (I double checked to make sure!!) and I can actually taste the salt!!! I'm going to bake them anyway, but I'm definitely NOT excited anymore!

the recipe called for TEASPOON, not tablespoon... guess you didn't follow the recipe exactly?

DO NOT PUT 2 TABLESPOONS OF SALT IN!! I followed the recipe exactly and they are ruined :(
