A can of cream of mushroom soup can be a real dinner saver. It works great in casseroles and can turn into a sauce or gravy in a pinch.

ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound lean ground beef
1 1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic
1 can (28 ounce size) crushed tomatoes
2 cups sauerkraut, well drained
1 can (15 ounce size) pinto beans
1 can (14 ounce size) low-sodium beef broth
3 tablespoons chili powder (or to taste)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
directions
Heat oil in 3-quart saucepan. Brown meat, onions and garlic. Drain. Stir in remaining ingredients.
Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer, partially covered, for 25 to 30 minutes.
NOTE: Rinsing sauerkraut prior to draining removes approximately one-half of its sodium.
