Cherry Devil Recipe

Ingredients:
1 box cherry gelatin powder (standard size)
1 cup boiling water
1/4 cup salad oil
4 eggs, beaten
1 box devil's food cake mix (the chocolateliest one you can find)
1 cup minced Maraschino cherries, well drained, divided
1 can ready to use fudge frosting
Directions:
Heat oven to 350F.
Dissolve gelatin in boiling water and cool to room temperature. Place in a mixing bowl with the oil and eggs. Add cake mix and beat on low speed 1 minute to moisten. Beat 3 minutes on medium speed.
Stir in 1/2 cup of the minced cherries. Pour into a greased or sprayed 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake until the top springs back when touched lightly with your fingertips, about 45 minutes. Cool in the pan.
Mix fudge frosting with remaining 1/2 cup of cherries. Spread over cooled cake. Cut in squares.
