Halloween Spider Bread
- add review
- #24602
30-60 minutes
ingredients
2 loaves thawed frozen bread dough
1 beaten egg
2 raisins
directions
Form one thawed bread dough loaf into a round ball for the body. Place on a large cookie sheet sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
With the other loaf, cut off the end (about one-eighth of a loaf) and form a ball. Place in front of body for the head. Slice the remaining dough into eight horizontal strips and roll into ropes for legs. Place under head and upper body. Place the raisins in the head for eyes.
Brush with beaten egg and cover with plastic wrap coated with non-stick spray. Allow to double in size. Remove wrap and bake in at 350 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes. Allow to cool on rack. You can slice off the top of the body, hollow it out and place your favorite chip dip inside. Let people break off pieces of the spider as dippers.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
