30-60 minutes
ingredients
1 package bowtie pasta (farfalle)
1 medium head cabbage, shredded
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 large carrot, shredded
1 1/2 cup sour cream
Butter (if needed)
salt and pepper, to taste
1 teaspoon dill weed
2 tablespoons cooking oil
OR
1/2 pound diced bacon
1/2 pound thinly sliced kolbasi or diced cooked ham
directions
Cook bowties as package directs and drain. If you are going to keep warm, make sure to cook bowties al dente.
Heat oil in Dutch oven or a large deep frypan. If using bacon, omit oil and fry bacon until crisp. Remove bacon with slotted spoon and set aside. Remove all but 2 to 3 tablespoons drippings. Stir in shredded cabbage, onions, carrots and mushrooms and saute until tender. Season with salt, pepper and dill.
Stir in kolbasi or ham and cook 2 minutes. Mix in bowties and sour cream and heat through. (Also add bacon pieces).
