Ingredients:
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
4 teaspoons granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 shallot, finely minced
2/3 cup olive or canola oil

Directions:

In a medium size bowl, combine balsamic vinegar, granulated sugar, salt and shallot. Whisk thoroughly.

While whisking constantly, drizzle in oil.

Prepare at least one hour before serving to allow flavors to combine.
