Ingredients: 1 pound cooked ground ham 1/2 pound ground fresh pork 1 1/2 cup soft bread crumbs 2 tablespoons whiskey, divided 2 tablespoons water 1 egg 1/4 cup minced celery 2 tablespoons minced onion 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1 tablespoon prepared mustard 1/2 tablespoon vinegar
Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with non-stick foil.
In a large bowl, mix together ham, ground pork, bread crumbs, 1 tablespoon whiskey, water, egg, celery, onion, dry mustard, pepper, and cloves until evenly combined.
Using about 1 tablespoon of the mixture for each, form into balls and place 1 inch apart on baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes.
For the sauce, combine remaining 1 tablespoon whiskey, brown sugar, prepared mustard, and vinegar in a saucepan over low heat. Whisk until combined and cook about 5 minutes.
Toss cooked ham balls in sauce. Serve warm in a chafing dish or low-heat crockpot.
