Ingredients: 3/4 cup milk 1/4 cup water 2 tablespoons margarine or butter, cut up 1 tablespoon kirsch or milk 3 cups bread flour 2 tablespoons sugar 3/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon ground mace 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom 1 teaspoon active dry yeast or bread machine yeast 1/2 cup snipped pitted prunes or dark raisins 1/3 cup chopped hazelnuts ***GLAZE*** 2/3 cup sifted powdered sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 teaspoons milk
Directions: Add the first 12 ingredients to the bread machine pan according to manufacturer's directions for a 1-1/2-pound loaf. Select the basic white bread cycle.
If desired, for powdered sugar icing, in a small mixing bowl stir together powdered sugar and vanilla. Stir in enough of the milk to make an icing of drizzling consistency. Drizzle over cooled loaf.
