Original Toll House Cookies
CDKitchen https://www.cdkitchen.com
Serves/Makes: 100    |   Ready In: 30-60 minutes

Ingredients:
1 cup butter, at room temperature
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon hot water
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped nuts
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet.

Place the butter in a mixing bowl. Beat on medium speed until fluffy. Add the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and eggs. Beat for 2 minutes or until well blended.

Combine the baking soda and hot water and mix until the baking soda is dissolved. Add to the sugar mixture in the mixing bowl. With the mixer running, slowly add the flour and salt, scraping down the sides as needed.

Stir in the nuts, chocolate chips, and vanilla extract by hand.

Drop the cookie dough by teaspoonfuls onto the baking sheet, about 2-inches apart. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake at 375 degrees F for 10-12 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes then transfer the cookies to cooling racks.

Store the cooled cookies in an airtight container. Toll House cookies also freeze well.
