
Laksa Paste

1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh ginger
1 teaspoon finely chopped garlic
1 teaspoon finely chopped lemongrass
1 teaspoon finely chopped cilantro
2 red chiles, finely chopped
1 teaspoon shrimp paste
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
3 tablespoons olive oil
Combine all the ingredients in a food processor. Process until it forms a smooth paste, scraping down the sides as needed.
Store the paste in a tightly covered container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. The paste can also be frozen for up to 2 months. Use the paste to flavor laksa (a spicy noodle soup dish popular in South East Asia).
