
Colored Sugar

Serves/Makes: 1 cup | Ready In: < 30 minutes
1 cup granulated white sugar
liquid food coloring (see guide below)
Combine the sugar and food coloring (as per the chart below) in a bowl until well blended and uniform in color. Spread the colored sugar mixture out on waxed paper or parchment paper to dry, making sure there are no lumps.
When the sugar has dried, transfer it to an airtight container for up to 3 months. Use as a decorating sugar or use the colored sugar anywhere granulated sugar is called for.
Color Chart:
Orange: 3 drops yellow and 2 drops red food coloring
Peach: 4 drops yellow and 1 drop red food coloring
Yellow: 5 drops yellow food coloring
Pale yellow: 3 drops yellow food coloring
Green: 8 drops green food coloring
Lime Green: 3 drops yellow and 1 drop green food coloring
Blue: 5 drops blue food coloring
Turquoise blue: 3 drops blue and 1 drop green food coloring
Baby blue: 2 drops blue food coloring
Purple: 3 drops red and 2 drops blue food coloring
Red: 8-10 drops red food coloring
Rose: 5 drops red and 1 drop blue food coloring
Pink: 1-2 drops red food coloring
