
Candy Cane Ice Cream

14 candy canes
1 quart vanilla ice cream
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
Place the candy canes inside a zipper-top bag and crush gently with a hammer or the flat side of a meat mallet. They should be about 1/4-inch or smaller in size.
Place the ice cream in the microwave and soften for 10 seconds. Remove to a large bowl.
Combine the ice cream with the peppermint extract and crushed candy canes until evenly blended. Transfer the mixture to a plastic container with a lid and place in the freezer until firm, about 1-2 hours.
