
Homemade Chili

1 1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 can (16 ounce size) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (15.5 ounce size) kidney beans, drained
1 can (6 ounce size) tomato paste
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Cheddar cheese, shredded
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, onion, and garlic. Cook, stirring to break up the beef, until the beef is browned and cooked. Drain off any excess grease. Add the beef mixture to the crock pot.
Stir the tomatoes, beans, tomato paste, chili powder, sugar, salt, and pepper in to the crock pot. Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 6 hours or until heated through.
Top individual portions with the shredded cheese when serving.
