
Aloha Pork Steaks

2 teaspoons cooking oil
4 pork shoulder steaks, cut 1/2-inch thick
1 can (8 ounce size) crushed pineapple, undrained
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
2 cups hot cooked rice
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add cooking oil and turn skillet to coat evenly.
Add the pork steaks to the skillet and brown on both sides in the oil. Drain off the fat and transfer the pork to a 3 1/2 or 4 quart crock pot.
In a bowl, combine the crushed pineapple, chopped green pepper, water, brown sugar, tapioca, ketchup, soy sauce, and dry mustard. Mix well.
Evenly pour the pineapple mixture over the pork steaks in the crock pot.
Cover crock pot and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours, or on HIGH for 3-4 hours, or until pork is cooked.
Serve the pork steaks and sauce over rice.
