Ham Loaf
CDKitchen https://www.cdkitchen.com
Serves/Makes: 4 | Ready In: 2-5 hrs
2/3 pound cooked ham, (grind fine in a food processor)
1 pound lean ground pork
2/3 egg
2/3 cup fresh bread crumbs
1/2 cup milk or more as needed
salt and pepper, to taste
***Glaze***
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup plain vinegar, apple cider vinegar works well also
1/3 cup water
1/3 teaspoon dry mustard
Mix all loaf ingredients and shape into a loaf, you can either place it on a baking sheet or loaf pan.
Mix the glaze ingredients well and pour about 1/2 over the loaf. Bake at 350 degrees F for 2 hours, basting about every 15-20 minutes after the 1st hour of cooking.
Remove the loaf from the baking dish and mix the remaining glaze with the pan juices and serve along with the ham loaf. The leftovers freeze well.
Cook's Notes: This recipe has no cloves in it but I don't see why they could not be added, maybe 1/2 tsp. or to your taste. I think the cloves would be added to the glaze and not to the meat. This is a great way to use leftover ham.
