Ingredients: 1 pound lean ground pork 1 medium onion, finely chopped 1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs 1/2 cup chicken broth 1 teaspoon salt dash black pepper 1 pastry for 2-crust 9 inch pie 2 medium cooking apples, peeled, cored & sliced 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions: In skillet, cook pork and onion until pork is browned and onion is tender. Remove from heat. Stir in bread crumbs, chicken broth, salt and pepper.
Line a 9-inch pie plate with half the pastry; fill with meat mixture.
Combine apples, brown sugar and cinnamon; spoon atop meat layer. Adjust top crust; seal and flute edges. Cut slits in top crust for steam to escape.
Bake in 400 degrees F oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
