Ingredients: 1/2 cup butter-flavored shortening 1 1/4 cup sugar 2 eggs 3/4 cup sour cream 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 cups flour 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 2 teaspoons grated orange peel
Directions: In a mixing bowl, cream the shortening and 1 cup sugar. Add the eggs, sour cream and vanilla; mix well.
Combine the flour, baking powder, soda and salt; stir into the creamed mixture just until moistened. Pour half of the batter into a greased 9x5" loaf pan.
Combine the cinnamon, peel and remaining sugar; set 1 tbsp aside for the topping. Sprinkle the remaining sugar mixture over the batter. Carefully top with the remaining batter. Cut through the batter with a knife to swirl. Sprinkle with the reserved sugar mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes; remove from the pan to a wire rack to cool completely.
